“I am absolutely obsessed” —Alysia Boudreau, on letter #2
barely about boys, sometimes about bicycles — what’s going on here?
My name is Morgan, and I created Bicycle Boy out of a desire to synthesize my experience of the world into one colorful space.
Predominately, I’m a writer and I put words into many different shapes. Mostly in the form of poetry, prose, and essays (both the academic and intimate kind). I also study and practice many mediums of art, so here also you’ll find a mixture of things — mostly textiles, ceramics, drawing, and photography.
A big question I’m often wondering about:
How a creative and contemplative life can be a form of resistance against the oppressive powers that be?
In other words, how can a freshly baked pie, with apples picked from your neighbour’s tree, be an antidote to loneliness? I’m interested in finding out. Join me as I investigate the inner and outer lives of myself and others, and as we compare our field notes in the ever-unfolding moment that is Now.
These are my love letters. To friends, to the artists I admire, to the cup of coffee gone cold on my windowsill. To my bicycle, to the planet I wish to protect, to the people who have long stood for it. These are my love letters to grief, to music, to humour, to food, and to love itself. I wish for you to read them and land somewhere within yourself, if just for a moment.
Why else should you sign up to be spammed with love letters?
When you subscribe to Bicycle Boy, you get a full meal deal — essays, interviews with artists, films, photos, recipes, and lots of silly thoughts. Plus, you give me a huge boost of confidence with your support, and by proxy, you’ll support the other creative souls I hope to highlight in this space.

A lot of meat, but not a lot of money.
Everything at Bicycle Boy is free because I’m just some guy and I don’t know how to ask for money. HOWEVER! There is an option to pledge money for my work. Maybe it adds a bunch of value to your life. Or maybe you want more from me? How about a T-shirt? A handwritten postcard every month? I can take you foraging for mushrooms, or call you on the phone and hear about the errands you need to run! Let me know.
“I love your sense of humour” — My grandma
Maybe you’ll feel less alone in this big wide world?
My dream is that Bicycle Boy will become a place for seekers with common curiosities to unite and contemplate. I’d love to have you here!
