Happy Friday, Bicycle Boys!
Today I have a sweet little conversation in store for you. Click play at the top of the page to hear my chat with a couple of pals from my textile class, Signe and Johanna.
We chat about our relationship to time, energy, and problem-solving when it comes to art-making and textile work. We share our inspirations. I hit them with some Rapid Fire Textile Q’s and made sure not to edit out any awkward silences or me saying ‘like’ 1000 times. I hope you like it!!
You’ll also find the usual List at the bottom of the page. I would love to read yours. Send ‘em over my way!
And, some pics:
The List! - a segment for sensory exploration
my latest project…. does it resemble anything familiar?
just pavement rolling beneath my tires, the snow mostly melted away
this textile artist… feeling so inspired. This is felted wool onto styrofoam. The artist is Paolo Del Toro.
long shadows, later and later into the evening… children kicking a soccer ball in the field
the insides of trash bins. For reference! For food! For an upcoming Bicycle Boy film!
4 feelings:
good. Just Good. How can it be? After years of really not being sure if I’d be okay? Can it be? It must be.
my body lurching and slipping off the bus seat this morning, nodding off on the way to Oslo.
the wind on my knees…
really ready to make the things I’ve always wanted to make
3 sounds:
so much Discovery Zone…. I can’t get these lyrics out of my head….
"There’s nothing at the top
but a gift shop
in the sky”
the hiss of a milk frother, sitting in a cafe currently… not so common these days, and a welcome treat.
the barista’s smooth RnB playlist
2 smells:
right now: cinnamon, cardamom, and lemon baked in to a tray of pastries
the smoke of a campfire floating through the streets… a welcome sign of warmer weather
1 taste:
a special delivery dinner to the studio… falafel, sauerkraut, spinach, and tomatoes… all wrapped up in a rescued tortilla. I am lucky. I feel it so!
Songs you heard in the Voiceover:
Intro: Pair a Dice - Discovery Zone
Outro: El Condor Pasa (If I Could) - Simon and Garfunkel
Thank you all so much for your support — to Bicycle Boys near and far.
